SOWK 6141 - Foundations of Social Work Introduction to the profession of social work, with attention to social work history, social welfare history, and current social policies and programs that influence the contexts of social work practice. Professional values, identity, and critical thinking are discussed in relationship to current and historical understandings of social problems and policy responses.
