ECON 3161 - Game Theory


First course in game theory. The beginning of the course focuses on developing the techniques necessary to solve games. In the latter part of the course, game theoretic analysis is applied to a variety of topics, including, but not limited to, principal agent problems, auctions, and voting. Students see how the tools developed early in the course can be applied to a vast array of problems in economics and related disciplines.

Credit Hours: (3)
Prerequisite(s): ECON 2101  and ECON 2102 ; MATH 1120  or MATH 1241 ; and STAT 1220  or equivalent; all with grades of C or above; or permission of instructor.
