SOCY 4264 - Status Processes


Status characteristics are markers that identify socially valued properties of individuals.  This course examines familiar status characteristics in society, including gender, race, and educational attainment; identify theories that explain status processes; and clarify how these theories help scholars understand phenomena related to several status characteristics.

Prerequisite(s): SOCY 1101  and SOCY 2161 , or permission of instructor
