CJUS 5101 - Drugs, Crime, and the Criminal Justice System


Provides an overview of the current state of drug use in this country and throughout the world and examines the nature and extent of drug use, the history of drug use/ abuse, contemporary drug use patterns, licit and illicit drug dealing and trafficking, crime and violence associated with drug use and drug markets, drug control strategies at the local, state, national and international level, treatment level, treatment options and alternatives, drug policy issues, legalization debates, and prevention strategies.
