NURS 6188 - Application of Nursing Informatics in Strategic Planning and Decision-Making


Explores theories of strategic planning for nursing and healthcare organizations with an emphasis on nursing informatics applications in practice such as telehealth and the electronic medical record.  Identifying sources and information needed for identifying system vulnerabilities, strategic decision-making, and problem-solving techniques for analysis and forecasting are explored with attention to the organizational processes and context.  Students learn to apply selected quantitative information management tools for planning services, implementing new technology, and evaluating strategic outcomes.
