MEGR 8191 - Introduction to Optical Fabrication and Testing Optical elements and their application; optical materials and materials specifications (homogeneity, striae, birefringence), specifications for optical elements(figure, mid-spatial frequencies, finish), optical darwings (ISO 10110), coatings, fabrication methods for flats and spheres, aspheric fabrication, small tool and computer controlled polishing, interferometric measurement of form and finish, other test methods.
