CEGR 6126 - Analysis of Plates and Shells


Credit Hours: (3)

Analysis of rectangular and circular plates using classical as well as numerical methods; orthotropic and continuous plates and plate buckling. Analysis of thin shells and shells of revolution with and without bending; membrane theory of cylindrical shells; symmetric and unsymmetric loading; pipes, tanks, and pressure vessels; computer applications.

Prerequisite(s): CEGR 4224 and permission of department.
